Children In Need 2015

Year 1 Reading Café

We recently held a Reading Café for Year 1 parents and children. It was hugely successful and everyone enjoyed the activities in school.

Year 2 Reading Café

Our Year 2 parents and carers enjoyed visiting school last week for the Year 2 Reading Café. After tea and a chat, parents/carers joined their children in class to listen to stories and make ‘bugs’. Everyone enjoyed the sessions and we will be having more soon.

Reception Reading Café

Our first Reception Reading Café was a super opportunity for the parents and carers of our Reception children to have a cup of tea and a chat before Miss Ross-Nevin, Miss Compton and Miss Wood brought our Reception children into the hall and shared a story.  Miss Ross-Nevin read the story and talked about gesture, facial expression and intonation and its impact on the story. She encouraged children and parents to join in.

After the story, parents and carers were invited to spend some time in their child’s classroom to join in with a craft activity. This was a lovely opportunity for parents to be involved in school and to experience activities in class.
