Newsletter 22nd July 2022

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have made it to the end of term and to the end of the academic year, with no school closures. You should be so proud of your children and all they have achieved. They have shown such stamina and resilience. The children have met their new teachers and teaching assistants this week and have enjoyed time in their new classrooms. Enjoy the summer holiday and we will see you back at school on Tuesday 6th September. We wish all of the Year 2s every success as they move onto Year 3 in a different school. They have all come home with a book this week, as a gift from school.

Partnership News

We started the Partnership officially at the start of January this year. I am extremely proud of the staff and children for helping this be so successful. We feel many aspects of working together are becoming embedded and we have exciting plans for next year. It feels just right and a natural way forward for both schools. Thank you for your feedback and support in helping to make this happen.

Thank you to the staff

Thank you to all of the staff for working so hard, for being fully committed to the children of Mousehold and for always going the extra mile. Mousehold is a special place to work and the strong supportive team makes all the difference. The staff deserve a restful break with their families and we look forward to all being together again in September.

Mrs Hamling

We wish Mrs Hamling all the best as she begins her maternity leave today. We are looking forward to meeting the new addition to her family.

Miss Oliver

Miss Oliver, a Teaching Assistant in Greenfinch Class, is leaving today as she has secured another job in another school, working with children with special educational needs, including complex needs. She will be excellent, but we will miss her. We wish you the very best Miss Oliver!

Mrs Seaman

As you know, Mrs Seaman is retiring today. Having been connected with the school since 1959, Mousehold is a huge part of her life. She attended school here herself and her younger son, Jonny, attended the school too. Mrs Seaman has worn many hats over the years and her current role is Secretarial Assistant. She has been excellent in that role and is loved by so many. We will miss you Mrs Seaman.

Pop up shoe bank thanks

Many thanks for the donations of shoes. We are halting donations now until our next shoe bank in October. We aim to do this once a half-term and will ask again nearer the time. We don’t have the space to store shoes and clothes between times. We very much appreciate your generosity and we hope it has helped many of our families.

As the weather warms up and summer holidays are on the horizon please look after each other. Some simple things to remember:

  • Wear sunhats and use sun cream in hot weather, even if cloudy.
  • Wear helmets when riding a bike.
  • Remind your children to take care when crossing the road or walking along the path next to a busy road.
  • Wear seatbelts in cars.
