Newsletter 21st July 2023

We have made it to the end of term and to the end of the academic year. You should be so proud of your children and all they have achieved. They have shown such stamina and resilience. The children have met their new teachers and teaching assistants and have enjoyed time in their new classrooms.

Well done to our Year 2 children for their excellent Samba performances to parents and carers and for the amazing end of year celebration of their time at Mousehold. I always feel extremely proud seeing the children perform with such confidence and enjoyment.

Enjoy the summer holiday and we will see you back at school on Wednesday 6th September. We wish all of the Year 2s every success as they move onto Year 3 in a different school. They will have a wonderful time on the next part of their journey!

Thank you to the staff

Thank you to all of the staff for working so hard, for being fully committed to the children of Mousehold and for always going the extra mile. Mousehold is a special place to work and the strong supportive team makes all the difference. The staff deserve a restful break with their families and we look forward to all being together again in September.

Miss Jay

Miss Jay, is leaving today as she has secured another job in another school. She will be excellent, but we will miss her. We wish you the very best Miss Jay!

Miss Noakes

Miss Noakes is also leaving us to start a family. I know she will be missed by all the staff and children at Mousehold. Thank you for all your hard work and we look forward to meeting the new addition to her family

Thank you to Norwich University of the Arts

We would like to say a huge thank you to Norwich University of the Arts for their generous donation of PE and music equipment. This will be a great benefit to our children.

We had a lovely end of year attendance celebration today as part of assembly.

We are aware that lots of things can make it difficult to support your children to attend school regularly, and the school and Council want to understand what the biggest challenges are and how we can support your family to overcome them. Take the five-minute survey to share your thoughts at

The Friends of Mousehold School

Work on the new play equipment will start in the first week of the holidays. Once again thank you to the friends for supporting us to purchase this for our children.

I would also like to thank Mrs Rayner who has spent a lot of time organising, sourcing and purchasing the equipment.

The children will love this when they return!

As the weather warms up and summer holidays are on the horizon please look after each other.

Some simple things to remember:

  • Wear sunhats and wear sun-cream in hot weather, even if cloudy.
  • Wear helmets when riding a bike.
  • Remind your children to take care when crossing the road or walking along the path next to a busy road.
  • Wear seatbelts in cars.
